Eurostar Blue operates international services from London St Pancras to Lille, Paris, Brussels, Rotterdam and Amsterdam

FIP Availability

The list from EIL shows where FIP facilities apply on the EIL network, including routes, transit points, and neighbouring carriers:

  • London – Brussels

Note: FIP coupons do not give free travel on Eurostar.

Availability and Restrictions

  • FIP and safeguarded tickets are quota-controlled and sell out as bookings increase.
  • Tickets can be booked up to 6 months in advance.
  • Travel is for leisure only (not commuting or business).
  • Break of journey is not allowed.
  • There is no discounted travel available in Eurostar Premier.
  • There is no discounted travel on the Eurostar Snow Train.

Who this applies to

Eurostar FIP fare information is for employees and their family members who have a FIP International Reduced Rate Card issued by Rail Staff Travel

These fares are for holders of a Staff Travel Card, unless the card has one of these endorsements printed on the front:

  • 5 – National Rail and London Underground only. Not Eurostar
  • 6 – Not valid on Eurostar services
  • 11 – Valid on National Rail only. Not Eurostar

Booking options

Online: through International Rail at bookmyrst.co.uk, or other agents (travel agents apply booking fees).

In person: at any Eurostar Station. Eurostar will record each FIP card number against the booking. To purchase you will need to present the FIP card and passport for each person travelling with a FIP card.

Upgrades from a 2nd class FIP ticket to Eurostar Plus are not allowed, even if offered when changing a booking.

FIP fares for children are the same as adult fares. Children under 4 travel free if they do not take a seat. Children aged 4 and over must book a ticket. Children aged 4 can be issued with FIP cards if needed.

Staff Travel on Eurostar Red (formerly Thalys)

Eurostar (formerly THI Factory) operates Eurostar Red (formerly Thalys) high-speed services between the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. These trains are branded as Eurostar Red.

For public fares, children up to 4 years old travel free. Children up to 12 years old are eligible for a reduction on the adult global fare. Persons aged 12 and older pay the adult global fare.

The following table supplied by Eurostar defines the boundaries of FIP availability across the Eurostar Red railway network.

Eurostar Red offer Premium, Comfort and Standard. FIP first class facilities are valid in Comfort, and FIP second class facilities are valid in Standard. FIP facilities are not valid in Premium.

There are no FIP coupons available for free travel on Eurostar Red services.

The FIP Card or International Senior Manager Free Pass may be used to purchase tickets. 

FIP discounted tickets cannot be purchased on-board. Where no tickets are held, a supplement of €25 is levied on the on-board purchase of full fare tickets.

Travelling on a different Eurostar Red train

If you have an FIP discounted ticket and you travel in the same class on a different train to the one you are booked on, you will have to pay the difference between the discounted ticket you hold, and the full fare for the same class.

Public Fares

  • Children under 4 travel free if they do not take a seat.
  • Children aged 4–11 pay a child fare.
  • People aged 12–25 pay a youth fare.
  • People aged 26 and over pay the adult fare.

Eurostar Classes and Discounts

  • Standard – FIP discounted fares available
  • Standard Plus (formerly Comfort) – FIP discounted fares available only with a 1st class FIP card
  • Premium – No FIP discount available
